Grimes County, Texas - Award winning author to speak at Grimes County Greys meeting - April 22

 
 

The Grimes County Greys, Camp #924, Sons of Confederate Veterans will meet on Tuesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. in the Courthouse Annex in Anderson. Mr. Jeff Murrah, noted book author, counselor and public speaker will present the program. His love of Texas history and southern culture turned into two award winning books, None but Texians: A History of Terry's Texas Rangers and Texans Always Move Them: A True History of Texas. Mr. Murrah is a sixth generation Texan and member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas and the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Following the speaker, camp business to be discussed includes donation of history books to area schools, cemetery flagging records, Confederate Memorial Plaza and camp membership. There will also be a review of the April Confederate Heritage and History Month exhibit at the Navasota Library.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans is an international organization consisting of descendents of Confederate soldiers and charged with seeing that the true history of the south is presented to present and future generations.
