Confederate Memorial Service Saturday 4 April 2009.
The 8th National Confederate Memorial Services will be held Saturday April 4, 2009 on the lawn in front of the World’s largest Confederate Memorial at Stone Mountain Memorial Park Stone Mountain, Georgia.
The services will start at 1:00 pm, rain
or shine, and will be hosted by the Georgia Society – Military Order
of the Stars and Bars and the Georgia Division - Sons of Confederate
Veterans. There will be a keynote speaker, presentation by the
Children of the Confederacy, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and
the Order of the Black Rose – Georgia Society Order of Confederate
Rose.
This is a national event and members of
the above societies from all over the nation will attend.
This service is to honor the Confederate
Soldiers who served their country during the War Between the States.
Re-enactors will fire rifle and cannon salute in their honor.
