Confederate Heritage Month Updates
It is my pleasure to serve Commander
Bridwell as Chairman of the 2009, Confederate History and Heritage Month
committee for the Georgia Division SCV. I have asked the following men to
serve on this important committee: Commander Jack Bridwell as advisor,
Billy Bearden, Mike Crane, Jeff Davis, John Black, and James King. I, Calvin E. Johnson,

| News Release for Confederate Memorial Day—Sunday April 26th
The Constitution of the Confederates States of
America will be exhibited
from 8:00
am until 5:00 pm on Monday, April, 27, 2009,
in the Hargrett Rare
Book and Manuscript Library (on the 3rd floor of the Main
Library) at the University of Georgia in Athens.

| | Confederate Memorial Service Savannah, April 26 1:00 PM Mr.
Edgerton is a well known African American defender of the Southern
Cause. His speech will be followed by a musket salute by Confederate
infantry and then a 21 gun salute by Confederate artillery. We will
adjourn and move to Laurel Grove Cemetery for a memorial service at
the Gettysburg Lot followed by services at the gravesites of
generals Francis S. Bartow and Lafayette Mclaws. For additional

| | Stone Mountain celebrates Southern heritage Jim and Shirley Lear drove six and a half hours from Florida for
the ceremony, special to them because it was in front of the
world's largest Confederate memorial, the carving of Jefferson
Davis, Gen. Robert E. Lee and Gen. Stonewall Jackson.
